Season 1

‘Death Note’ season was premiered on October 4, 2006 with the season opener entitled ‘Rebirth’. In the beginning of the series, we met a high school going boy, Light Yagami, bored of his life and Ryuk, a shinigami, who threw his Death Note on earth. It was Light who discovered that mysterious book has the ability to kill human beings and decided to make this earth a better place for living by killing the wicked people. Second episode of series was entitled ‘Confrontation’. Here, we saw that Light became the center of global attention for killing all his victims in the same manner and ‘L’, a secret agent was also introduced. The man sets a trap for him with motive to find out what and why were those deaths taking place. Then was the episode entitled ‘Dealings’. In this episode, Light was informed by Ryuk that he was being followed by someone. He was also told that the thing which could help him to get rid of the agent was the power of Shinigami eyes. Following it was the episode entitled ‘Pursuit’. As time was passing away, Light was discovering more of the Death Note powers. In this episode, he found out how much he could manipulate anybody’s death before the actual death. Meanwhile, he also tried to find out the one who was chasing him.

In the next episode ‘Tactics’, we saw that Light utilized the services of Raye Penbar to obliterate FBI in Japan. Things started getting hazardous for L when it was figured out that he had been using FBI to collect details from Police. On the other hand, it was Light’s father who’d be heading ‘Kira Investigation’. Next episode in row was entitled ‘Unraveling’. In this episode, L invited the rest of the investigators to his hotel room so that a plan to catch Kira could be devised. After meeting Penbar’s fiancé, Light discovered that the lady must be put out of the way. In the next episode ‘Overcast’, Light was seen dealing with a former FBI agent, Naomi Misora, who could incriminate him. Next episode in row was entitled ‘Glare’. It was the episode in which Light discovered that his room had been bugged and the one who was responsible for all that was L. Light decided to make a plan so that all his (L’s) suspicions could be thrown off. In the next episode ‘Encounter’, L decided to be enrolled to the same University which Light was with so that he could get more time to carry out his speculations. Next episode in row was entitled ‘Doubt’. Then was the episode entitled ‘Assault’. Here we saw that a second Kira held a Japanese TV station hostage so that Kira’s home-made videos could be aired, in order to spread a message throughout the world. Later, it was shown that Misa Amane was the second Kira with intentions to meet Light. Next episode in row was entitled ‘Love’. Here, Light was invited by L to help him find out the identity of Second Kira. Rem told Misa the way she got a second death note.

Next to it was the episode entitled ‘Confession’. In this episode, Misa Amane came to know about Light’s identity as Kira so she visited him. Then came the episode entitled ‘Friend’. Light had a very smart plan to get rid of L with Misa and Rem’s help. Following it was the episode entitled ‘Wager’. Here, Misa was arrested by L after he came to know about her identity and it was the time for her to make an important sacrifice so that Light’s life could be saved. Then came the episode entitled ‘Decision’ in which Light got imprisoned. Next to it was the episode entitled ‘Execution’. Here we saw that neither Light nor Misa had confessed anything which made L and Soichiro to take a strong decision. Then was the episode entitled ‘Ally’ in which Light and L both started looking into the Yotsuba Group together. So new members were also introduced to the team. Next was the episode ‘Matsuda’. Next in row was the episode entitled ‘Makeshift’ in which the investigation team tried to expose the Kira. Then was the episode ‘Performance’. In ‘Guidance’, L’s group started cornering Yotsuba’s Kira after discovering its identity. In the next episode entitled ‘Frenzy’, Kira discovered that he had been exposed so tried to avoid his incarceration. Then was the episode entitled ‘Revival’ in which Light got his memory back and started working on his master plan once again. Next to it was the episode entitled ‘Silence’. Next came the episode entitled ‘Renewal’ in which Light started working to make this world a better place. Next to it was the episode entitled ‘Abduction’. In ‘Impatience’, Near contacted Light in order to get his co-operation to save Sayu. Then was the episode ‘Father’. In ‘Justice’, Near started suspecting Light when he got important information from Mello and Light had his own trap ready for him. In ‘Transfer’, Light asked Misa to carry out a back out plan. ‘Scorn’ showed that Near arrived in Japan and his group started investigating Mikami. Next episode in row were ‘Vigilance’, ‘Malice’ and ‘1.28′. Season finale was entitled ‘New World’. In this episode, we saw that Near confessed that the Death Note with Mikami was a fake one. Matsuda shot Light down several times. Mikami committed suicide. Ryuk killed Light using the Death Note itself and the series came to an end.
